A Beach Day With Friends
It's no secret that I'm not the world's biggest sun seeker. (Why SoCal then, you ask? Well, that's another post ...)
But I do love the seaside, especially on those misty, slightly blustery mornings. This past Labor Day weekend, we were lucky enough to have some old friends from out of town with us from Mexico, Texas and Virgina. While Saturday and Sunday topped out in the 90s, Monday dawned gloriously cool and cloudy.
Our team (which has added seven munchkin members since we met ten years ago in Hawaii) took the party to Baby Beach. We beat the afternoon crowd and the kids had a blast plowing through shallow water and stretches of sand they claimed all for themselves. Not surprisingly, the best photos were of the little ones. Here are some highlights:
Not to be outdone by the boys, Charlie went for it (as she always does).
The kids took turns bundling in towels during breaks. This is Lloyd and Jennie's oldest, Harris.
It's rare for there to be no one in the water even close to your kid. That's how mellow the beach was.
Peter never stopped moving.
Charlie did, but just for a real quick second.
Isaac went for the apple juice.
Winston went for the snuggle.
I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day!
